COMMUNITY SERVICES
- Family
Emergency Relief (original)
-
- This team helps folks in the community who have had some
difficulty in their lives. This might mean paying a month's rent, paying for
a prescription, or paying a gas/electric bill. People in need are referred
by the Williams Service Center, school counselors, or other agencies.
Members of this team are nominated by the nominations team and approved by
charge conference. If you would like to serve on this team please call the
church office @ 697-6651.
Vacation Bible School
(original)
- VBS is offered every June for a week. It is held in the
mornings for children ages 4 years to 6th grade and is a time of fun with
singing, crafts, games, dramas, Bible stories, and more. During the week we
have over 200 children exposed to the word of God. There is a great need for
adult volunteers to teach, prepare snacks, lead singing, organize games,
help with crafts, work in the nursery, work registration, etc. If interested
in helping with VBS please call the church office @ 697-6651. Click
Signup Form to enroll for VBS from June
16-20, 2008.
- Evangelism Team
(original)
-
- Our evangelism team is focused on introducing the
community to Jesus Christ and Wyoming UMC. We do this in a variety of ways,
including movie nights, music events, community events such as harvest
festivals, community fairs, etc. If you would like to serve with this
ministry please contact the church office @ 697-6651.
-
- Food Pantry
(10/02/07)
-
- Volunteers obtain, fill and deliver requests received by
our church staff from Dover community social workers, school nurses, clergy
and members/friends of our congregation. Our goal is to provide a two
to three day food supply to families in crisis, i.e. lost home, lost job,
etc. If you have questions, or wish to serve with this team, please
call Lee Gabler @ 698-0140.
-
- Soup Day Team
(10/08/07)
-
- Soup day is scheduled for every second Wednesday, October
through March, except for December. This is a mission ministry, and we only
charge $3.00 for the meal. All proceeds are used to buy needed items for the
two homeless shelters in the area. We also take a large pot of soup to each
shelter and quarts of soup to our shut-ins. Please contact Howard Priestley
@ 697-1828 or hapkrp@yahoo.com if you are interested in serving on this
team.
