Worship Team
(original)
- Wyoming has three services each Sunday which means a lot
of logistics need to be looked after. This team listens to the congregation
and addresses their worship needs. There is input from all aspects of the
worship experience and recommendations are made to make Wyoming a more
meaningful place for the Body of Christ to praise our Lord. If you are
interested in serving on this team please call the church office @ 697-8400.
- Prayer
Ministry Team
(01/23/09)
- The Prayer Ministry Team is available at the altar every
Sunday during the last song to pray with you or for your concerns. You may
want to pray for the shut-ins or the sick. You may want to pray for someone
going through a tough time or for your own personal concerns. You could pray
for our country or the clergy and staff. Please come to the altar and
lighten your load. God is always ready to listen. If you’d like to be a PMT,
please contact Brenda Will.

Newcomer Team
(2/21/09) Back to top
- The objective of the Newcomer Team is to make our
Newcomers feel welcome and comfortable while worshipping with our Wyoming
UMC family. Hopefully they will be eager to return and become regular
attendees. Our desire is that Newcomers enter into the life of the church,
get to know many of the active members, feel they are becoming a part of the
Wyoming UMC family and eventually desire to join our membership.
-
- Welcome Packets are available for Newcomers. These
packets include many brochures covering most aspects of our church life.
They include activities, Bible Studies, Sunday School and Nursery
information, Music ministry, Teen Ministry, etc. When Newcomers share their
address and phone number on the Visitor Cards or Attendance Pads in the pew,
they will first receive a letter from the Pastor, and then a personal phone
call after their 2nd visit. A Team member will answer any questions
Newcomers may have and invite the Newcomer family to take part in other
church activities.
-
- A post card with more information is sent after their 4th
visit. Newcomers are again called after their 6th visit to see if they need
more information about and/or need help in joining some of our events and
activities. Along the way they may choose to attend a Newcomer's Orientation
Class to learn more about Methodism history, Wyoming UMC and to explore
whether they are interested in joining the Wyoming UMC family. After the 8th
visit, Newcomers have progressed through the Newcomer Process. They are then
considered Constituents if they are not yet ready to become Members.

Acolytes
(original) Back to top
- Youth ages 9 and up. At the beginning and end of
each of our traditional services the Acolytes transfer the "Light" in a
meaningful way. Instruction and meaning of the role are taught by
Barbara Roscoe. There is a rotating schedule.

- Altar
Guild
(1/27/09) Back to top
- The sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated the first
Sunday of every month here at Wyoming United Methodist. Members of the Altar
Guild work in teams of two to prepare the elements and the table for all
three services. Each team is assigned to cover communion requirements for
one month out of the year. This ministry provides the opportunity to
lovingly contribute to worship in a quiet, behind-the-scenes capacity.
Please prayerfully consider serving the Lord in this way. If you feel led to
do so, contact Liza Giaccone at
698-1019 or Donna
Mason at 697-1033.
